  • Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy has been around for thousands of years. Traditional Chinese Medicine recognizes cupping as an excellent method of promoting blood flow to stagnant areas in the body.

Cupping therapy is myofascial decompression. While tissue is compressed during a massage, cupping draws the tissue upwards and creates a negative pressure. This technique breaks down fascial restrictions and adhesions to help increase range of motion. It draws metabolic waste and stagnant (old) blood to the superficial surface so that the lymphatic system can drain it out of the body.

Cupping can leave marks on the body ranging from light pink to a deep red/purple in color. These marks are not bruises. The darker the color indicates the areas with the most tension and stagnation.

  • Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is specific massage manipulation of the deeper muscle tissues and fascia layers. Adhesions can block circulation and press on nerves, causing pain, inflammation, and limited muscle movement. Much like Therapeutic massage, Deep tissue works by breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain, tension or spasm, tight and shortened muscles and restores normal movement. It uses many of the same techniques as Swedish / Therapeutic massage, but the pressure is much more intense.

  • Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic massage uses a variety of strokes and techniques to help manipulate the client’s muscles and other soft tissue. Various ranges of pressure are used depending on the client and their muscle response.

This type of massage helps to lengthen shortened muscles caused by tension, spasm, and fascia restriction. Muscles are relaxed, and adhesions in the fascia are broken down helping to restore flexibility, movement and strength in the muscles.

Prenatal massage enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation, and relieves pain.

    Prenatal Massage alleviates:

    • Reduces swelling in the arms, hands, feet and legs
    • Stress on weight-baring joints and muscles

    Epsom salts

    Epsom Salt Baths

After a massage, all clients are recommended to take an Epsom salt bath. Epsom salts aid in flushing out toxins and lactic acid from your muscles to help them recover, relax, and reduce muscle soreness. Add 1-2 cups of Epsom salts into a hot water bath and soak for 15-20 minutes.

    Drinking water

    Water/Hydration

We instruct our clients to drink plenty of water after a massage treatment. Water assists the body to flush out toxins and aids in rehydrating the muscles. Clients receive a glass of water after every treatment to start the rehydration process right away.
